INTRODUCTION

A hotel group with hotel units in Kos, Andalusia-Spain, Halkidiki and Dassia-Corfu, entrusted TEMAK with the installation of a reverse osmosis unit of its new 5-star hotel in Kos, with a capacity of 370 suites and rooms. It preceded in 2018 by the successful installation of a reverse osmosis unit of brackish water production of 610 m³/day at the hotel group in Corfu.

CHALLENGES

The hotel had as water source a well water containing elements such as arsenic and lead which were difficult to be treated. With the aim of providing water of an excellent quality and the possible increase of dissolved solids in water the following years, a study was conducted for the design and the construction of a specialized system perfectly adapted to the specific needs of this hotel. The simultaneous work in the surrounding area made the access to the engine room difficult, as all the equipment was transported to its installation site with the help of a special telescopic loader.

THE RESULT

The desired delivery time of the system in full operation was limited, since the system had to be installed much earlier than the start of operation of the hotel and was achieved thanks to the experience and know-how of the TEMAK team, combined with the training of specialized technician boot and complete system setup. The hotel covered all its needs for drinking water of an excellent quality and benefited on many levels from its use with operating costs per cubic meter of water produced less than 0.30 cents per euro.
